ZAMBONIS ROCK OUR FOR A GREAT CAUSE 7/29/23
ZAMBONIS LIVE FOR A GREAT CAUSE! Come on out! Outside the classic Wonderland Of Ice.
Please join us for an afternoon of family fun with hockey, music, food, and fundraising.
Watch the Champ de Foire Hockey Club in a charity game to benefit the Jimmy McGrath Foundation and the Bridgeport PAL.
The game is sponsored by Partners General Insurance Agency and hosted by Wonderland of Ice, with the winner hoisting the PGIA Cup. The after party will feature music by The Zambonis, “The world’s greatest all hockey band” as well as food by Vazzy’s Catamount and Alene’s Ice Cream. There will also be a silent auction.
The CDF Hockey Club is a registered 501(c)(3) tax exempt foundation and 100% of your tax deductible donation is given to charity.
The Champ de Foire Hockey Club was born out of a spirited conversation between two brothers and their friends. While reliving athletic glories of a bygone day, the decision was made to put together a team of family and friends with the intention of trying to win a men’s league championship. For some on the team it was an opportunity to reconnect with their lost love of hockey. For others, a chance at playing for the first time. For all it was an opportunity to discover the positive physical and mental benefits of exercise, playing hockey, connecting with teammates, and being part of something. As the team became more of a reality, we began to recognize our potential reach and that we had an opportunity to do something not just for our benefit, but we could do good for others as well.
Soon after that decision was made, CDF was established and incorporated as a volunteer operated not-for-profit foundation with a team that plays hockey in order to raise money for causes we believe in. The team is a collection of players – some family, all friends – spanning a wide range of ages and experience. We feel a particular connection to causes and organizations working to promote positive mental health and experiences, as well organizations benefitting first responders and those dear to them.
WHAT THE PUCK MATT TKACHUK!
For 32 years, dudes have walked up to us Zambonis and said, “you need to write a song called ‘What the Puck,'” at which point we walk away with some smarmy condescending “yeh right” smirk. Well, “What the puck, Matt Tkachuk” has happened, and we apologize to Chad, Todd, Chip etc., etc.
Written on a Tuesday night/recorded on a Wednesday/mixed and mastered on a Thursday and released at 11:53pm on that very Thursday.
Have an ice day
“When this band started up, we swore off what the puck but your talent and your last name have really pucked that up”
